North Africa: a growing need for wheat

In North Africa, wheat consumption is expected to reach a record high in 2021/2022. According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) report, demand for the grain increases to 47.8 million tonnes compared to 47.1 million tonnes in 2020/2021. Wheat occupies a large share of cereal products with more than 61% of cereals. On the international market, North Africa will consume 29.2 million tonnes of wheat in the 2021/2022 season.
