Africa beats India to become Bangladesh’s top cotton supplier!

India has been overtaken by East and West Africa as the leading source of cotton for Bangladesh. According to data from the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), reported by thedailystar.net East and West Africa accounted for 37.06% of Bangladesh’s cotton supply in 2020, followed by India with 26.12%, then the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) with 11.35%, the US (11.4%) and Australia (4.65%).
